At Glenwood Presbyterian Church, we want our guests to feel welcome and part of the family. This page attempts to give you an idea of what a typical Sunday at Glenwood involves. If you have any questions, please send us an email or give us a call so that we can get you acclimated to GPC. It is an exciting time to become involved here as we rediscover our calling and search for a permanent pastor!
Parking: The main parking lot at Glenwood Presbyterian Church is located off of Lexington Avenue behind the church. Parking is also available on the street on Glenwood Avenue and Oak Street.
Sunday Schedule of Services:
Opening Exercises Hymn Sing: 9:45am
Sunday School: 10:00am
Sunday Morning Worship: 11:00am
Youth Groups: 5:00 pm
Opening Exercises In the fellowship hall just before Sunday School, we join together to sing our favorite hymns. Call out a number and we'll sign the first and last verses. A good way to get the blood pumping and the spirit moving on Sunday morning.
Sunday School:
We have Sunday School classes for all ages. Our nursery is located on the lower level of the Sanctuary building. Enter to the left under the covered walkway from the main parking lot. The nursery is dead ahead, second door to your left. Our other Sunday School classes are on the second floor of the educational building. When you enter the building, go up the stairs on your left and follow the signs.
Sunday Morning Worship
Our Sunday Morning Worship is a traditional service held in the sanctuary (entrance off of Glenwood Avenue). The service is usually over between 12:00 and 12:15pm. A nursery is provided in the same place as the nursery for Sunday School. Some folks wear coat and ties, while others dress more casually.
Youth Groups: We have evening youth groups for middle and high school age students. These groups usually meet in the Fellowship hall on the lower level of the Educational building for fun activities and Bible study. They currently meet at 5 pm.
Regardless of which service you attend, please be sure and sign the guestbook and pick up a Visitor Packet in the entrance to the sanctuary. More information is contained in the packet, in addition to a free gift!
